Alhambra Auto Accident Case

In February 2026, Partners John Paulson and Rachel Boden, Senior Counsel Gabriela Márquez and Associate Veronica Borunda Sandoval, secured a trial victory in a motor vehicle case arising from a 2022 accident that occurred at an intersection.  Our client, who was 16 years old at the time of the incident, sideswiped the plaintiff’s vehicle and immediately got out of his vehicle and checked on the Plaintiff and called 911.

Plaintiff sustained a hand fracture and underwent surgery shortly after the accident. After hiring a lawyer, the Plaintiff expanded her claims and damages in discovery to include additional orthopedic complaints and multiple future care recommendations. The Court significantly limited the scope of plaintiff’s future damages claims prior to the jury being sworn. On the first day of trial, the Plaintiff further narrowed her case, withdrawing several categories of alleged injuries and economic damages, leaving only past and future pain and suffering for the jury’s consideration.

The defense focused on the Plaintiff’s credibility and urged the jury to return a reasonable award based on the evidence presented. After deliberation, the jury returned a verdict consistent with the defense position. Our client was extremely pleased with the outcome.
