Ways to Prevent Special Event Liability from a Governmental Entity Perspective

Equity Partner Rachel Boden recently presented to industry leaders and professionals regarding governmental entity representation.  Specifically, Ms. Boden discussed liability at special events from a public entity perspective, diving into issues such as common decisions points that carry hidden risks, contracts with outside vendors, liability insurance handling, incident documentation and much more.  Public entities often face lots of special issues around public events such as parades, events in the local park, or holiday celebrations. People love to attend these special events but attention must be paid to the liabilities these events potentially create for the entity putting on the event.  She presented these ideas and issues to public officials and other attorneys and also fielded follow up questions and a lively debate!
